The Cocoa Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (Cocoaphil) is a non-stock, non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Cocoaphil was organized and stands as the umbrella organization to actively promote the integrated and sustained development of the Philippine cocoa industry by leveraging resources and providing services and assistance in the following areas:
Continuing Education and Technology Promotion
The Foundation advocates for awareness and adoption of sustainable cacao production technology by conducting training sessions on: planting materials propagation; crop management that include plant nutrition, pests and diseases management and cropping options; appropriate post-harvest practices; and, marketing. Technology promotion is also carried out by establishing demonstration farms and through multimedia information dissemination.
Industry Data
The Foundation gathers and disseminates information materials that include statistical data on the production, market and price trends and other relevant information about the domestic and the global cocoa economy. These information are updated regularly and made accessible to the industry sub-sectors to enable them identify, plan, develop and expand market positions and strategies.
